Shipping

Centre de Verre ships from the store primarily by UPS.

Orders going outside the continental US usually ship via the US Postal Service. USPS Priority Mail should arrive within 3 days in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. USPS Priority Mail International usually arrives anywhere in the world in a week to ten days. (But sometimes it does not! There are a lot of variables involved)

Liquids and Aerosols such as Fusemaster Superspray, Hotline Wash-Away and Boron Nitride Spray cannot be shipped by air and may have other restrictions on them. The US postal service will not take them at all. We cannot ship them outside the continental US.

Large equipment will be drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer via motor freight (Truck). You must inspect the shipment before signing for it. If the outside of the shipment is damaged, make a note of that on the delivery receipt before you sign. (for example: Side of crate scraped and punctured. One steel band broken.) If the shipment is severely damaged, you should refuse delivery.

If you accept your shipment and need to make a claim for damage, time is of the essence! Take pictures of the packaging. Take pictures of the equipment from every angle. Contact the trucking company immediately. The faster, and more thoroughly you make the claim, the better your chances of success. Shipping companies regularly deal with fraud and they view all claims with suspicion. They also have a lot of regulatory requirements placed upon them that we may not understand. Remember, they are not easy-going glass people. If you don’t present an air tight case, they will not pay.

Centre de Verre will act as a liaison between you and the manufacturer. Since we did not pack or ship the equipment, we have no part in the claim. However, we will help in whatever way we can.

Small kilns and a few other small items are drop-shipped by UPS from the manufacturer.

Receiving a UPS shipment is similar to the motor freight guidelines above. If the package shows damage, have the driver note it before you sign. If it looks severely damaged, you can refuse it. UPS claims are almost impossible to get settled. It may be better to refuse shipment. Again, if you decide to make a claim, make your case as air tight as possible.

Damage of goods packed and shipped by Centre de Verre. If your glass arrives damaged, Centre de Verre may submit a claim through UPS or we may replace the damaged merchandise. That will be decided when you inform us of the damage. We may want to see pictures of the damage to help us make the determination.

Priority orders. Next Day Air does not guarantee that your shipment will be sent the same day. We always do our best to get shipments out as soon as possible. We will pack your shipment ahead of others, if possible, and get it out as quickly as we can. We have always worked hard to get our customers what they need in an emergency, but we can not guarantee anything.

Box Charges

Box charges apply to regular sheet glass and dichroic sheet glass only. These items are double boxed to prevent breakage during shipping. Box charges are calculated as follows:

  • 6% of the total cost of regular sheet glass ($3.50 minimum charge)

              plus

  • 2% of the total cost of all dichroic sheet glass ($0.50 minimum charge)

 

Returns

Centre de Verre prides itself on customer satisfaction. If incorrect items have been shipped through our error, we will correct the error at no additional cost to you.

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase of any new item, you may return it to Centre de Verre by contacting us within 15 days of receiving the item. We will be happy to exchange the product or refund you in the form of the original payment method minus a 10% restocking fee. Shipping fees will not be refunded, and the customer is responsible for return shipping. The returned item must be in the same condition as when shipped for full credit to be issued.

Equipment sold as “used” cannot be returned. It is sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
